Biomedical IRB
The Biomedical IRB reviews research designed to study specific diseases and conditions such as
- Studies of mechanisms, therapies, or interventions in human diseases
- Epidemiological studies that investigate the distribution of disease, the factors that affect health, and how people make health-related decisions
- Clinical trials
Assuming your research is not exempt, there are two types of IRB reviews: expedited and full. Only studies requiring full review must be submitted by the deadlines in the calendar below in order to be reviewed at the meeting date indicated. In contrast, expedited protocol reviews are reviewed on a rolling basis.
